Chemung – Tioga SCOPE report October 26

I’m pleased to announce that Tioga County has agreed to become part of a multi-county chapter of Scope with Chemung, henceforth the Chemung-Tioga chapter. We have our 4 officers from Chemung, and now we are adding into our chapter board of directors Tioga County representatives Chuck Sherwood and Leo Muckey. The plan is to have active and direct collaboration within our counties.

In other news our Henry Golden Boy raffle fund raiser now has a draw date! We are drawing the winner at our October 28, 2026 meeting held at Pine City Sportsmen’s Club at 6:30pm. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, now is the time, this is Last Call. The proceeds from this raffle will help with our goals of supporting local youth teams, supporting Scope initiatives in New York State, and retaining and expanding our firearms rights within the state and counties.

Don’t forget that the guest speaker at our October 28 meeting is State Senator Tom O’Mara, representing the 58th district in the New York State Senate. We are honored that Senator O’Mara wanted to return to speak with us. Due to now having Tioga County participation in our Scope chapter, I’m going to attempt having this meeting available on ZOOM for their participation. It will be the first time I’m trying this, so wish me luck.

Immediately after the meeting I’ll be preparing to leave for Florida by 5am Thursday, so wish me luck on that. Though we won’t have 50/50 raffles or other gun raffles during the winter months, our chapter board will still have monthly meetings via Zoom, and I’ll continue sending out these monthly reports from Florida, keeping everyone abreast of goings on.

Finally, not everyone who receives these reports is a Scope member, and not every Scope member that receives these reports belongs to any local gun clubs. I want to encourage all Scope members to belong to local gun clubs, and club members to belong to Scope. Our gun clubs need our help and participation, at every meeting I hear concerns of participation and funds. Likewise, Scope members joining gun clubs increases our exposure amongst our fellow gun owners. A mutually beneficial arrangement.

Attached are the final flyers for our October meeting with Tom, and our Last Call Henry raffle. Please distribute as much as possible, and hope to see you at the meeting.

One last thing. VOTE!! Your vote matters and so does your non-vote.
