**NEW START TIME** 2026 Meeting Schedule ![]()
| From the Chairman's Desk I hope you are healthy and enjoying the start of our summer 2027. To bring you up to speed, as you know, on Sunday June 14, we sponsored a Father’s Day Craft and Vendor Show at the Hamburg Moose Club. We put our creativity to use as we think outside of the box on various ways to raise money for our Erie County Chapter. We simply sponsored the show and then ran the day for the vendors and guests. Photos are on the left, including member Sam Hunt selling 2nd Amendment and 250 Anniversary baseball hats and pins, and member Tim Foley selling sports memorabilia, all of which were a big hit. It was a lot of fun to see our members present and "in action" as vendors. We appreciate them both. The show went well considering it was our first try at this. We sold raffle tickets for the Weber Propane Grill at the door and then drew the winning ticket later in the day. We also held a basket raffle and a 50/50. Those proceeds were added to the total profit of the day for our Erie County SCOPE Chapter. I will give a full disclosure of the finances of the craft show at our next meeting. We encourage members to support us or get involved and give us a helping hand in the future at other events we plan. During our next SCOPE meeting on this Wed. June 24, we will begin a series presentation which is called “How to Protect Yourself from Intruders.” The first topic of this series on Wednesday will be “Securing the Home Front”. The topic centers on how to prevent/deter a home invasion and then the basics of how to handle the situation if it occurs. We hope to see you then. Stay safe, stay informed, and be prepared. Stay Informed and Stay Safe, Respectfully, Mark Drews *UPDATED * Matthew Glab Post menu page 2 page 3 |

| Erie County Court Clerk Mickey Kearns appeared for an impromptu visit at 6:30 pm to talk about his business office, streamlining the pistol permit bureau and the DMV offices for quicker visits. He plans to return to formally speak to all members present at a future meeting. SCOPE Life Member Retired Supreme Court Justice William Boller presented also regarding the pistol permit process. He gave valuable insight on the “to do”s” and “what NOT to do” when filling out applications. He gave interesting stories of practical things to avoid doing with your concealed carry that he has dealt with through the years, that didn’t go so well for the permit holder. He plans to continue to work to support the office a few days a week to help with the workload. SCOPE President John Elwood was also present and gave his accolades to the Erie County Chapter for our productivity and success. He spoke on current egregious legislation found on the NYSCOPE website and the importance of getting gun owners out to the polls. He encourages all members to bring one person to join the membership.
